        End-of-Trip Reflections:
        • How is the Taiwanese culture shaped? What are the historical events that shaped its culture?
Taiwan was once considered as unimportant as it was used as a bribe to bribe the Dutch off their capital city. However once the Dutch took control of Taiwan, they realised that Taiwan could be used to make money by selling the meat of the Sika deer China and the hide of the Sika deer to Japan to make samurai's armour as the hide is very thick. Thus Taiwan grew into a thriving city.
        • How do science and technology impact the Taiwanese lifestyle?
Science and technology helped reduce the number of deaths due to natural disasters such as typhoons, earthquakes and floods as science and technology allowed scientists to determine when the next typhoon, earthquake or floods will take place and evacuate the people to safety. It also helps raise the political state of the country as it will be able to defend itself if it ever attacked with the latest technological weapon. Technology like helicopters will also allow people to get into a disaster zone when the roads or bridges are blocked or destroyed.
        • What is the importance of science education about the technological/economic progress of a country? Explain.
The world is a technological world now. If the new generation does not learn how to use technology, the country will start to turn worse and worse as the world needs technology to run now. Without technology, the world cannot run properly, for example, the production of materials will be very slow. Thus the income generated by the country and the country will grind to a standstill.
